But the days we are having here are amazing, packed with fun.
The Conference has been proceeding in the state of "hakuna matata"

Nairobi
Back in Nairobi.
We are staying in Nairobi Uni. The weather is cooler compared to Mombasa.
Umm... what should I write?
We have the day off to get ready for the opening ceremony tomorrow.
Have done our laundries, the things get dry way faster than in Japan.
The bus ride from Mombasa was thrilling, again, with no lights by the road.
Food is tamu (tasty)!
We had chapati and chai for breakfast today, which only was 30 Khs, or about 45 yen.
If you are interested in how things cost over here, here are some examples.
Soda 300ml 70-80yen
Matatu (bus) 20-30yen
Cyber (internet) 1.5yen/minute
We have discovered the POLEPOLE and interesting cultures of Kenya in various aspects.
1. The way they walk
It is almost 1/30 of the speed in Shinjuku.
We feel like the wind is pushing us forward, and not walking.
2. The keys won't open in Hostels
We have to be really be careful when opening or closing doors.
Due to some technical problems, they will not open for about 10 minutes.
3. Confusion when ordering food
Once we start ordering different things at restaurants a big confusion stirs up.
etc. etc.
But strange to say, we never get irritated for some reason.
This must be the powers of Kenya.
We are having soooo much fun already,
and are scared what will happen to us once the conference starts.
We will be visiting various places like JICA, JETRO, etc. so check up this blog for more updates!

とうとう、ケニアへ
関東副代表のよっこです。とうとう明日ＪＫＳＣ９期の後発隊が
ケニアへ旅立ちます。8期では日本側がホストでしたが今回は
その反対。去年は見られなかった仲間の違う面が見れるのでは、
と思っています。
「何でケニア？」はよく問われる質問ですが、始まりに明確な理由
なんてない。だけど、私はこの必然を、私がＪＫＳＣに関われかつ
ケニアで本会議を迎えられるという幸せを大切にしたい。それが
私の人生を豊かにしてくれるだろうという予感がするから。
この本会議では「国」に囚われるのではなく、一人一人と向き合いたい
と思ってます。「国」と個人は切っても切り離せない関係だとはよく言わ
れますがそれでも、「国」の違いを楽しみ、その中から「何か」を掴む3週間を送りたい。
最後に、この本会議はＯＢＯＧを始め、本当に多くのご理解とご協力
のお陰で開催まで導くことができました。心から感謝いたします。
実際にケニアへ行くのは現役メンバーですがブログでの更新や報告会
などで少しでもケニアの風をおすそ分け出来たらな、と思っています。

From Mombasa
Hello All!
We are now in Mombasa, at the Kenyan coast.
10 hrs travel by bus was fun, as we got to see elephants, giraffes, etc.
The beach is wonderful. Too wonderful, to be put into words.
So sorry, but you have to come to see it yourself.
We have been to the markets.
Thanks to our counterparts, we were able to buy Khangas cheaply.
The Khangas here are said to be higher quality than that of Nairobi.
What has been really interesting are Matatus.
They rocket us away to our destinations, with 20-30 Khs per persons.
The conductors knock on the door to give signals to the drivers,
and boy, these conductors are energetic when getting the customers in.
The Kenyan members made us Ugali yesterday.

Today, we went to the old town in Mombasa, to eat some traditional
Swahili food, which was also good.
Overall, we are doing just fine, great to be precise.
The Conference is going to start on the 13th, with 5 more Japanese members.
With them, we really begin the 9th Conference, so beware.

2nd Day in Kenya
Hello everyone,
We are here in YMCA at Nairobi.
The weather is so nice, we are about to forget the summer heat in Tokyo.
Today, we visited the Japan Embassy.
We discussed about the Opening Ceremony, and also had a meeting
briefing over the 9th Conference, and the issues we are facing at the moment.
The Embassy was huge and beautiful.
We saw around "town" today.
The parts of city we saw today was the center of government, with many ministries.
What was shocking to many of us is the street crossing.
As a matter of fact, the traffic lights are just there for illumination.
The "Kenyan way" of crossing the roads, or just rushing across in other words, is frightening.
From tommrrow, we will be visiting Mombasa.
We have the tickets, we have our accomodation reserved, things are just too fine.
By the way, about the mosquitos.
...we are fighting with them.
We have taken our medicine, we have bednets (with small holes), and we have our Japanese KATORI SENKOU smoking the lives out of ourselves as well.
The Kenyan members are really nice to us, and we are feeling so safe.
Friends are gold.

ケニア!!
大川 舞です（＾＾）
ついに今日出発です!!
あと約１時間後には家を出ます。
でも荷造りが終ってません。
買い物も終ってません。
やばやばです。
自分は４月にJKSCに来て、ケニアに行こうっていきなり決めて。
海外行ったことないのにいきなりケニア!?って言われるけど、
よっぺの言葉を借りれば、
「出会ってしまったからさ☆」ﾜﾗ。
一瞬でひきつけられました。
でも４月から今日まで本当に短かった!!
ほんとにほんとに。
今でもこれからケニアに行くなんて、まったく実感ありません、ﾜﾗ。
「ちょっとケニア行ってくるわぁ～。」みたいな。
今までめっちゃ遠くに感じていたアフリカが、今ではすごく近く感じます。
なにごとも気持ちしだいなんですねぇ。
わくわくどきどき☆
どんな旅になるんだろう。

まさかこの日が来るなんて・・・
ケニア渡航まであと２０時間ほど。１年前からずっといきたかったケニアに旅立つ日がついにやってきました。
自分の荷物の軽さにかえって動揺しております。
どうしてケニアなのか？とよく人に言われるけれど、そんなこと言語化できないです。
もし自分の思いを最も正確に近似しているフレーズがあるとすれば、
「そこにケニアが、日本ケニア学生会議があったから。」
まさかこの日が来るなんて・・・
ケニア渡航まであと２０時間ほど。１年前からずっといきたかったケニアに旅立つ日がついにやってきました。

ついに出発が明日にせまりました！人生二回目のケニア！
こんなにも早くまたケニアにいけるとは思ってもいませんでした。
高校生のときにケニアに行かせてもらって、ケニアが大好きになって、
ずっと気になっていたJKSCに大学入ってすぐにアプローチして、
今実際にメンバーになって･･･
すごく楽しいです。すごく充実しています。
毎日みるもの、きくものあらゆるものがキラキラです。
それもすべていつも私を支えてくれる周りの人のおかげ。
本当に感謝しています。
ケニアでは五感・喜怒哀楽、ぜんぶフルに使って、
吸収できるものは吸収しまくります！
世界にはまだまだ知らないことが沢山あふれてる！
十代最後の夏が、ケニアだなんて・・・
しあわせすぎる！！！！！
大きな一歩、すすめてきます！

この時期はみんな徹夜だったりクーラーだったり…
ケニア行く前に体調崩さないように気をつけましょう！
…はい、自分のことですね。
さて、思い起こせば去年の終わりごろ、
半ば勢いで入ったJKSCですが、ここまで楽しくやれるとは思ってもみませんでした。
それというのも関わってくれた多くの人たちやいつも支えてくれた家族、そして何よりメンバーのおかげです。
今回一緒にケニアに行く人も行かない人も、みんながぼくの中でつながっています。
そういった人たちの思いを乗せて、ぼくたちはケニアへと向かうんです。
とにかく笑顔を絶やさず、楽しんできたいと思います。
そして今回のケニア渡航を通して得たもので、今度はまわりのみんなを笑顔にしていきたいと思います。
それでは、行ってきま～す！！！
